Cybeast Saga Chapter 23

Chapter 23: Showdowns at the WWW Expo

Last time, Lan and his friends have been invited to the Preview Gala of Cyber City's Expo. However, they are soon meet by Dr. Wily who reveals that the Expo Site is in reality the WWW's secret Headquarters. After his friends were captured, Lan escapes with the help of Chaud, but WWW HeelNavis use Copybots to pursue them. Mach appears and saves Lan and Chaud and asked the former to stop Baryl. With Shuko and Match's help, Lan and Rush enters the secret passageway and makes there way to the Expo.

(With Maylu and the others...)
Inside a room in the Expo Site, we see Maylu and the others surrounded by HeelNavis and Iris is not with them.

"I wonder where they're keeping Iris..." Maylu whispered.

"Even if we knew, we can't do anything about it." said Yai.

"Quiet! Both of you!" one of the HeelNavis yelled.

"Hey Mick..." Dex whispered.

"What is it?" Mick asked.

"I have an idea. Can you teach me how to use a CopyBot?" Dex asked.

"Why would you ask me... Oh!" Mick said as he realized what Dex is planning, then the two whisper their plan.

(With Lan and Rush...)
Are escaping the HeelNavis with the help of Chaud, Mr. Mach, Match, and Shuko, Lan and Rush travel through the secret passageway making their way towards Expo Site.

"Man... It's so dark in here. I can barely even see where I am going." said Lan, suddenly Rush barks something to Lan, then Megaman appears on his shoulder on a hologram.

"Lan... Rush says he sees something light ahead." said Megaman, then Lan looks up and sees a light.

"That must be the Expo Site..." let's go!" said Lan as he and Rush make their way forward.

Moments later, inside the Seaside Pavilion, Lan and Rush exited the secret passageway and are standing on a ledge next to a mural of an octopus.

"Looks like we made it back inside the Expo." said Lan.

"Yeah, we must be in the Seaside Pavilion." said Megaman, then Rush barked as he noticed something.

"What is it Rush?" Lan asked as he turns to see where Rush was pointing at, at sees Yuika, Vic, and Ito. "Ah! You guys!"

"Eeek! Lan Hikari!" Yuika gasped, as she and Vic notice him.

"Hurry up Ito! We're going on ahead!" Vic yelled to Ito who is at a control panel.

"Please wait, I'll be with you in a minute." said Ito as he did some typing and finished. "There!"

Ito then runs over the bridge of sea creatures and makes his way towards the other side.

"Wait!" Lan yelled as he and Rush makes their way towards the bridge.

"Switch on!" Ito shouted as he presses a button on his PET and the sea creature brige breaks apart causing Lan and Rush to stop.

"Tee hee hee! Looks like we got first dibs!" said Yuika.

"What are you guys planning this time?!" Lan demanded.

"Sorry Lan, but you won't be hearing anything from us. As of now, we will take our leave." said Ito as the ex-WWW trio enters the passageway.

"Dang it! Now what do we do?" Lan asked, then Rush barked pointing at the control panel.

"Lan, Ito must have done something to the control panel for the pavilion." said Megaman.

"Okay, let's jack in and fix the system. Rush help me out here." said Lan, and Rush barked in agreement. Rush dug a hole to enter the Cyberworld as Lan approaches the control panel.

"Jack in! Megaman, execute!" Lan shouted as he jacks Megaman into the control panel.

Inside the Pavilion Cyberworld, Megaman appears alongside Rush, then Lan came up on screen.

"Megaman, Rush! Find the control panel in the Cyberworld's control panel." Lan shouted, and Rush and Megaman nodded in agreement, then suddenly an army of viruses appears before the two.

"There's a lot of viruses of here. Rush, I'll take care of the viruses while you head for the switch and fix the control panel." said Megaman, and Rush barked saluting him as he digs a hole and dives into it.

The Swordy3's, Piranhas, and Bubble Star viruses charges straight for Megaman.

"ElecSword Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip, then Megaman forms an ElecSword in his right arm and uses it to slash several of the viruses deleting them.

The Pirahnas then fire arrows at Megaman which he evades then he deletes them with the ElecSword. The more viruses appear.

"Lan! More viruses have just appeared, and the amount seems massive."

"In that case, DollThunder Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted, then he inserts the chip then Megaman forms a ragged a doll in his right arm and fires a bolt of lighting which deletes more of the viruses.

Rush reaches the control panel and fixes it, and then barks to Lan.

"Megaman! Rush has fixed the control panel." said Lan.

"Good. That means we're done here!" Megaman shouted as he deletes the remaining viruses with the DollThunder attack.

In the real world, Lan sees the sea creature bridge forming again.

"Everything's working again. Let's jack out and keep going." said Lan, then Rush appears from a hole as Lan jacks out Megaman, and continues forward.

In the Green Pavilion, the ex-WWW trio are at the next passageway with Ito working the control panel which is at the display of Planet Earth.

"Hurry up Ito, I don't how long it will take to keep Hikari occupied." said Vic.

"I'm working as fast as I can." said Ito.

"Hold it right there!" a voice yelled, and the group turns to see Lan and Rush.

"Argh! You again..." Yuika snarled.

"Ito!" Vic yelled.

"Hey! I'm doing all the work here!" Ito yelled at Vic, then he got out his PET. "Judgeman, I'm leaving you to take care of Megaman!"

"With pleasure..." said Judgeman as Ito jacks him into the console.

"Shall we get going? Judgeman, stand your ground." asked Ito, as he and other two enter the passageway and the tree display closes the entrance.

"Shoot! Looks like have to jack into that Earth Machine and defeat Judgeman, or else we can't go any further!" said Lan.

"OK! Let's do it Lan!" said Megaman as Lan and Rush walks up to the machine and jacks Megaman in with Rush following him from behind.

Inside the Cyberworld, Megaman and Rush enters and encounters Judgeman near the control panel.

"Get away from the control panel Judgeman!" Megaman demanded.

"I'm afraid I cannot. These words may be terribly overused, however, if thou wishes to proceed, though must defeat me!" said Judgeman.

"So be it... Rush stand back!" Megaman said, and Rush nodded and does so.

"Let's go, Megaman! Battle Routine, set!" Lan yelled.

"Execute!" Megaman shouted.

"Thou shall not pass! Bind Chain!" Judgeman yelled as he unleashes his chain towards Megaman who dodges it.

"MegaBuster!" Megaman yelled as he fires his MegaBuster at Judgeman.

"Strange Shield!" Judgeman yelled as he summons a large book which blocks the shots. "FireBurner!" Judgeman yelled as a stream of flame shoots out towards Megaman.

"WideShot Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip. Megaman then forms a trident and fires a wave of water to block the flames.

"Bubble Star!" Judgeman yelled as the book turns a page and fires bubbles at Megaman which traps him.

"Golem Hit!" Judgeman yelled as the page turns to unleashes a giant rock fist at the trapped Megaman.

"Area Steal Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip, then he escapes the bubble and dodges the rock fist.

"You shall not escape my judgement! Arrested books!" Judgeman shouted as he summons two monster like books and they make there way towards Megaman.

"Time to try out one of our new Crosses. Charge Cross activate!" Lan shouted as he uses his Link Pen to press a button on his PET's touch screen. Megaman is then engulfed in flames, and after 10 seconds he looks a lot like Chargeman.

"Alright! I'm all charged up! Choo, choo!" Megaman shouted.

"Your transformation will change nothing!" said Judgeman.

"Don't be too certain! I'm going to full speed ahead! Choo Choo!" Megaman shouted.

"Bind Chain!" Judgeman shouted as he fires his whip against Megaman.

"Charge Tackle!" Megaman shouted as he dashes towards Judgeman knocking back the chain and hitting him head on.

"Now take this! FireHit Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip, then Megaman forms two fiery fist and charges them up to make them even larger.

"Charged FireHit! Choo Choo!" Megaman shouted as he uses those fiery fist to punch Judgeman several times, then he give him an uppercut knocking him down.

"The finisher! FireBurner Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip, then Megaman forms a flamethrower in his right arm and charges it arm.

"Charged FireBurner!" Megaman shouted as unleashes a massive burst of fire which envelops Judgeman.

"I'm sorry... Ito... Gwaaaaaaah!!" Judgeman screamed in agony as he is deleted.

"Rush, the switch" said Megaman, then Rush makes his way to the control panel and presses the switch.

In the real world, the tree display moves opening the passageway, the Lan jacks out Megaman as Rush appears from a hole.

"Alright, now we can get through!" Lan smiled as he and Rush enter the passageway.

Lan and Rush travel the next passageway and enters the Sky Pavilion, and the two were panting.

"What's with these never-ending stairs? I'm getting tired just going through them." said Lan, and Rush barks in agreement.

"Lan! Look up there!" Megaman yelled as he appears from Lan's PET as a hologram and he points to the ex-WWW trio with Vic next to the replica of Mr. Weather.

"Vic!" Lan yelled, then Vic and the other two notices Lan.

"It's the brat again! Don't you ever get tired!?" Vic snarled.

"If he's here, then Judgeman is..." Ito realizes about his NetNavi's deletion and begins to cry.

"Don't be so down Ito, this is how life is. You've known this since the day you were born." said Yuika.

"I know..." Ito said sadly.

"Vic, try and stop those two from going any further." said Yuika.

"What am I supposed do?!" Vic yelled.

"You're the one coming up with plans! So you think of something!" Yuika yelled.

"Fine... Elementman!" Vic yelled.

"Roger..." said Elementman, then Vic jacks him into the control panel. Suddenly, the cloud path that leads to the next passageway rises.

"See that Yuika, I can do something..." said Vic.

"Clever. But it looks like little Lan is going to get you." said Yuika, then Vic notices Lan approaching him.

"Urk!" Vic growled.

"There's nowhere left for you to run Vic." Lan yelled.

"You think you have me little brat? Think again!" Vic smirked as he uses a smoke bomb and and disappears and reappears next to Yuika and Ito.

"How did he...?" Lan gasped.

"Later brat! Once we're through with Wily, we will get his machines and come back for the Cybeasts!" Vic said as he Ito, and Yuika went through the door.

"Lan jack me in! We need to defeat Elementman so we can keep going." said Megaman.

"Right!" said Lan as he jacks Megaman into the control panel and Rush follow him from behind.

Inside the Cyberworld, Megaman and Rush encounter Elementman near the switch.

"Step away from the switch Elementman!" Megaman demanded.

"No! I am going to erase my grudge from that day. I will make you suffer!" Elementman yelled.

"Megaman! Get ready!" Lan yelled.

"Right! Let's do this!" Megaman shouted.

"Battle Routine, set!" Lan yelled.

"Execute!" Megaman shouted.

"Down Burst!" Elementman shouted as he generates tornadoes towards Megaman.

"Like that move's going to work. FireSword Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip. Megaman then forms a FireSword in his right arm and uses it to slash the tornadoes away and charge for Elementman.

"Element Chip! Aqua!" Elementman shouted as the orbs on his back rotate and he turns blue changing his element to Aqua. "Diamond Dust!"

"Thought you would try that! ElecSword Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip. Megaman then forms an ElecSword in his left arm, then Elementman unleashes some freezing wind against Megaman who dodges it and slashes Elementman damaging him majorly.

"We haven't forgotten your ability to change your Element. So Lan and I were prepared in case we had to fight you again." said Megaman.

"In that case... Element Chip Elec!" Elementman shouted as the orbs on his back rotate and he turns yellow changing his element to Elec. "Lightning Drive!"

"Lance Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip. Megaman then removes his swords and slams his palm onto the ground causing three bamboo lance to strike Elementman from behind before he unleashes his attack.

"Let's see if you can handle this! Erase Cross activate!" Lan shouted as he uses his Link Pen to touch a button on his PET's touch screen. Megaman is then enveloped in a dark cloud, and after 10 seconds. He has the appearance of Eraseman.

"What is that form?!" Elementman gasped.

"Erase Beam!" Megaman shouted as he fires beams from his eyes damaging Elementman.

"Curse you... Downburst! Elementman shouted as he fires tornadoes towards Megaman in which he evades.

"Spreader Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip, then Megaman forms a Spreader Gun in his right arm and fires an explosion of shots which hits Elementman, then suddenly he starts to get weaker.

"Wh-What's happening?!" Elementman said weakly.

"My Erase Cross has inflicted you with an HP Bug, thus it will start draining away your energy." said Megaman.

"Alright! Now let's take him down! Machine Gun Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip, then Megaman forms a machine gun and fires multiple bullets at Elementman damaging him severely.

"Now to finish this! Magnum Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip, then Megaman forms a Magnum gun in his right arm and aims at the weakened Elementman and fires a powerful blast at the damaged body leaving a hole in its make.

"No! Not again!" Elementman screamed in agony as he is deleted.

"Great work! Now hurry and press the switch you two!" Lan told them, and Rush nodded and presses it.

In the real world, the cloud path returns thus allowing Lan and Rush and access the passageway.

"OK, the path's back!" Lan smiled, then Rush appears next to him.

"We've gotta hurry! Jack me out!" said Megaman.

"Roger! Rush, while I go after the ex-WWW members, I want you to search around and find Maylu and the others, and tell them I'm here. Let's go Megaman." Lan said as he jacks out Megaman and continues forward, as Rush digs a hole and enters it to search for Lan's friends in the Expo Site.

After Lan enters the passageway, he finds himself in the Central Pavilion once again.

"Looks like we're in the Central Pavilion again." said Lan, then he notices Yuika near entrance to an electric barrier. "Yuika!"

"So you got through after all... Basically I'm not surprised, because it just proves how useless Vic can be." said Yuika.

"You and your friends can't run from me forever Yuika! You three won't get your way!" Lan shouted to Yuika.

"Sorry Lan, but this will be the end of your act. Circusman!" Yuika yelled.

"Ahoo, hoo, hoo! Leave it to me!" Circusman yelled as an electric barrier appears then Lan approaches it.

"An electric barrier..." Lan said to himself.

"If you want to get through, you've gotta beat Circusman! And just so you know, my Navi is a whole different show compared the Navis of those two clowns! Well, have fun!" Yuika giggled as she leaves.

At a door near the end is Ito and Vic with the latter trying to open it.

"Hey! Hurry up and get that door open! Are you two men or boys!?" Yuika yelled.

"Hey! I don't see you doing anything to help! Besides, only Dr. Wily and Baryl can open this door! So it's not THAT easy to open!" Vic yelled.

"It's true... I've never seen security this tight before." said Ito.

"Well you just gotta put your backs into it! Wily's machines to control the Cybeasts are on the other side of this door, and we need those machines to get them!" Yuika yelled.

"Lan! Did you hear that?!" Megaman asked.

"Yeah, if Wily has machines to control the Cybeasts, we can't afford to lose now!" Lan yelled.

"I'm with you Lan. Let's go!" Megaman shouted.

"Right! Jack in! Megaman, execute!" Lan shouted as he jacks Megaman into the control panel, the his PET's holographic screen appears.

Inside the Cyberworld, Megaman confronts Circusman next to the switch.

"Circusman!" Megaman yelled.

"Hey, ho, it's Megaman! Sorry to disappoint you, but I won't let you get in Yuika's way! Ahoo, hoo, hoo!" Circusman laughed.

"You always think everything's a joke huh? Well guess what? I'm going to be having the last laugh." said Megaman.

"Ahoo, hoo, hoo! You can try and be funny, but you won't be making me laugh! Prepare to be deleted!" Circusman laughed.

"Alright Megaman, it's time for the payback for the stunts he pulled. Let's go! Battle Routine, set!" Lan yelled.

"Execute!" Megaman shouted.

"Ahoo, hoo, hoo! Happy Clap!" Circusman shouted as he summons two hands which come together, but Megaman evades them.

"MegaBuster!" Megaman shouted as he fires his MegaBuster at Circusman who jumps out of the way the shots.

"Fear Whip!" Circusman yelled as he cracks a whip causing robotic lions to fly towards Megaman.

"Spreader Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip. Megaman forms a Spreader gun and fires a burst of shots and destroys the robotic lions, then two giant hands appear and strike Megaman sending him back, but he lands on his feet.

"Megaman! Are you okay?" Lan asked in worry.

"Yeah! It didn't hurt much. Send another chip in..." said Megaman.

"Okay! VariableSword Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip. Megaman then forms a magical sword in his right arm.

"Sonic Boom!" Megaman shouted as he unleashes several slashing wave towards Circusman who evades them.

"Fear Whip!" Circusman shouted as he unleashes more robotic lions at Megaman, who slashes them destroying them, then two hands appear to attack Megaman again but he evades them.

"I think I've had it with this clown... I'm ending this now! Dust Cross activate!" Lan shouted as he uses his Link Pen to press a button his PET's touch screen, then Megaman gets covered in scrap, then 10 second later, he has the appearance of Dustman.

"And what kind of form is that?" Circusman asked.

"One that is going to take out the trash! Scrap Reborn!" Megaman shouted then he fires a robot made of scrap metal which punches Circuman head on.

"Ow that hurts!" Circuman groaned in pain.

"If you think that hurts, wait till I recycle you!" Megaman shouted.

"I don't think that will happen! Fear Whip!" Circusman shouted as he unleashes his robotic lions towards Megaman, but be punches him out of the way, the he begins to use the chute on his head to suck Circusman towards him. "W-W-Wait!"

As Circusman is reeled towards Megaman, the latter punches him in the stomach dealing heavy damage.

"Scrap Reborn!" Megaman shouted as he unleashes another robot made of scrap which punches Circusman damaging him more. "Let's finish him off Lan!"

"Yeah! Let's do it!" Lan nodded as he prepares to insert another chip.

"Not so fast! Gloom Cage!" Circusman shouted as he uses his curtains to ensnare Megaman and zaps him paralyzing him.

"Megaman!" Lan shouted as Megaman tries to break free but couldn't.

"Ahoo, hoo, hoo! I'm have become much more powerful since our last fight. I won't be defeated even if you have the Cybeasts inside you. As of now, the Cybeasts power is nothing compared to me!" said Circusman.

"Is that a fact? Well too bad for you... Because we won't need their power to take a clown like you down! Ground Cross activate!" Lan shouted as he uses his Link Pen to press a button his PET's touch screen, then Megaman gets covered in rocks, then 10 seconds later he breaks free showing he has the appearance of Groundman.

"Let's see how you handle Ground Cross's overwhelming power!" said Megaman as he then uses the shear strength of his transformation to break himself free.

"Uh oh!" Circusman gasped.

"Now to take you down! Drill Arm!" Megaman shouted as he dashes towards Circusman with his drill powered up.

"Fear Whip!" Circusman shouted as he cracks a whip unleashes robotic lions at Megaman, but the latter uses his drill to break destroy them and strike Circusman dealing heavy damage.

"Now take this! AirHockey Battlechip in, download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chip, then a large puck appears in Megaman's hand and he uses it to slide it across the area which richochets of the walls and hits Circusman multiple times.

"Owww! This is not fair!" Circusman whined.

"You can whine all you want... But this fight is over, Lan!" Megaman shouted.

"Right! MegaCannon Battlechip in, triple download!" Lan shouted as he inserts the chips. Megaman then raises his arms and forms a large red cannon and aims at Circusman.

"Program Advance! GigaCannon 3!" Megaman shouted as he unleashes a powerful cannon blast which hits Circusman.

"Aaaaahhh! Yuika...Ahoo, hoo, hoo!" Circusman screamed in agony as he is deleted.

"Circusman was a bit stronger since the last time." said Megaman.

"Yeah, but we got the last laugh. Now head for the switch!" Lan told Megaman, and the latter nodded as he walks over to the switch and presses it.

In the real world, the electric barrier deactivates.

"Great job! Jack out Megaman!" Lan said.

"Roger!" said Megaman as he does so and returns to Lan's PET.

At the door, the ex-WWW members are still trying to open the door.

"What's taking so long?! Hurry it up!" Yuika yelled.

"Ah, come on, I'm not Baryl, so I can't even open this stupid door!" Vic growled.

"Quit your whining, and try to get that door open!" Yuika yelled.

"Hold it right there!" Lan yelled as he approaches the three. "It's over! Your Navis are deleted and you have nowhere to run!"

"Tsk. I guess Circusman couldn't even beat Megaman. But, even though you manage delete the Navis, that doesn't mean you can take on all three of us by yourself." said Yuika as she turns to Ito and Vic. "Hey you two! Hold off on that door for now and take care of the kid here."

Ito and Vic stopped working on the door and approaches Lan.

"Normally I'm against bruce force, but I'm going to make an exception." said Ito.

"It doesn't matter how strong you are at NetBattling, you can't take on all three of us by yourself." said Vic.

'Darn it! He's right, if it were a NetBattler I would easily win. But...' Lan thought to himself, the a voice is heard.

"INTRUDERS!" a voice shouted, and the three turns to see the Expo Navi in a Copbyot along with a large group of HeelNavis in Cobybots causing Ito and Vic to step back. "Lan Hikari and the traitors have been spotted!"

"Argh! Why now..." Lan gritted his teeth.

"Traitors does he mean us?" asked Yuika.

"Well we did betray the WWW after all." said Ito.

"Darn it! And after we were so close to getting Wily's machine." said Vic.

"Lan Hikari and traitors to the WWW! You will be eliminated! There is no escape for you!" said the Navi as he and forces approach Lan and the ex-WWW trio.

"This isn't good..." said Ito.

"I can take one or two by myself, but it's impossible for me to handle this many." said Vic.

"Without our Navis, we can't do anything!" said Yuika.

"Prepare to be eliminated!" said the blue Navi as he and the HeelNavis approach them.

"Dang it! And after coming this far..." Lan said as he gritted his teeth in anger, then suddenly a wall busted open and three familiar figures appeared before them.

"You leave Lan and Megaman alone!" said a familiar voice.

"That voice..." Lan recognized it, and when the smoke clears, the figures are revealed to be... "Roll, Gutsman, Glyde! Then that means..."

"Lan! Up here!" a voice shouted, and Lan looks up and see...

"Maylu, Dex, Yai!" Lan yelled happily as he is happy to see his friends okay, and they are with Rush.

"Sorry to make you worry, but we're here now!" Dex said.

"Yeah, we got your back." said Yai.

"Everyone..." Lan smiled for his friends have escaped are safe and sound.
